Contract Must-Have Skills
1. REST/SOAP Integrations Strong experience in designing and implementing REST and SOAP integrations between Pega and external systems. Hands-on knowledge of creating and consuming APIs, handling authentication mechanisms (OAuth, Basic Auth, JWT), and processing data transformations. Ability to troubleshoot integration issues, optimize service performance, and ensure secure and reliable data exchange.
2. Performance Optimization Identifying and resolving application performance bottlenecks in Pega applications. Strong understanding of PAL, DB Trace, Performance Analyzer, and other Pega performance-tuning tools. Ability to optimize rules, database queries, clipboard usage, and system resources to improve application scalability and responsiveness.
3. UI/UX Experience Hands-on experience developing responsive and user-friendly interfaces Strong understanding of user experience principles, accessibility standards, and intuitive case processing workflows. Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to create modern, efficient, and visually appealing user interfaces.
4. Case Management and Report Definitions Strong knowledge of routing, SLA management, approvals, subprocesses, and workflow automation. Extensive experience in designing and implementing end-to-end case management solutions using Pega's case lifecycle capabilities. Proficiency in creating report definitions, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions to support operational and management reporting.
5. Email Listeners, File Listeners, Queue Processors, Job Schedulers, and Agents Strong hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Email Listeners and File Listeners for automated intake and processing of inbound data. Expertise in implementing Queue Processors, Job Schedulers, and background processing mechanisms for scalable and resilient application design. Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize asynchronous processing to ensure reliability and high system performance.
6. Analyzing Log Files and Alerts in PDC (Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud) Strong hands-on experience in monitoring application health using PDC, including proactive identification of system issues and performance risks. Expertise in analyzing exception logs, alert logs, database-related alerts, integration failures, queue processor issues, and user experience bottlenecks to identify root causes. Ability to interpret PDC insights, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to improve application stability, performance, and reliability.
7. Branch-Based Development Strong hands-on experience with Pega branch based development, including creating, managing, and merging branches across multiple development teams. Proficiency in using branch reviews, resolving merge conflicts, maintaining application versioning, and ensuring adherence to guardrail compliance and development standards.
8. Agile and Scrum Methodologies Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. Ability to participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and estimation activities. Strong collaboration skills when working with business stakeholders, architects, and QA teams.
9. AI Experience Experience leveraging AI capabilities. Ability to integrate AI-driven recommendations and automation into business processes while ensuring model effectiveness and governance.
Nice to have skills:
1. Cloud and Infrastructure Knowledge Familiarity with cloud migration work. Understanding of networking concepts, SSL certificates, load balancers, firewalls, and infrastructure related troubleshooting.
2. Pega Upgrade and Migration Experience Experience upgrading Pega platforms between major versions and resolving guardrail or compatibility issues.
